Well we made it to two big milestones, 38 weeks pregnant and our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We spent the weekend in Palm Desert and it was very lovely. Our last little weekend getaway by ourselves...at least for a long time. On Saturday, we walked around the swapmeet, saw a movie, and had a nice Japanese Teppan dinner. On Sunday we had lunch at the Blue Coyote Grill in Palm Springs which is where we had lunch the day Jon proposed to me in August '07.
As you can see above, Jon surprised me with a huge beautiful bouquet of flowers on our actual anniversary (Feb 2). It's been an amazing year and it hasn't been difficult at all (except for the challenges of being pregnant.) We are so blessed and very much in love.
On the pregnancy front, everything is going fine, but we are BOTH very anxious for the baby to come. It could happen any day now... or it could still be a few weeks. This week was my first week off of work and I very much needed the rest. Just getting up, showering and getting dressed makes me tired.
At my last doctor appointment, the nurse said my uterus has grown (like normal) but I haven't gained any weight for the last three weeks (which is also normal at this stage). It just means the baby is growing and I'm not (which is good!!!)
My mom will be arriving on February 17th. If the baby isn't born by then, she will have the honor of being Jon's assistant coach at the hospital. If he comes before that, Jon's cousin Beth will be our assistant coach. So either way, I will have good coaches! Jon has been very well prepared by our Bradley birthing classes. He knows the in's & out's of every labor stage and he's learned lots of new vocabulary that's for sure!
Well, thanks to everyone for their support and prayers. We hope to be giving the BIG announcement very soon.
Love,
Andrea and Jon

I'm chuckling about the birthing classes comment! I asked Greg after we had Jake if I used any of the techniques we learned in our birthing classes and he didn't want to give me an honest answer because the answer was very much NO...I guess I was just too distracted by all the pain and craziness of giving birth. Then of course we were induced with Tyler and by the time the contractions were super strong, my epidural kicked in and it was all smooth sailing, almost pain free. You just never know how things will go, do you? I hope your birthing process will go smoothly and you can welcome baby boy into the world in a peaceful way. Can't wait to hear the news when it happens!
