Almost 41 weeks...

Hello everyone! My "official" due date has come and gone so my doctors have scheduled a first step in induction for this Sunday night at 10pm. On Monday morning, they'll check my progress. If I'm ready, I'll stay there in Labor & Delivery to have the baby, if not, I'll be sent home.

There's still a chance I could go into labor tonight or tomorrow, so please pray for that! Thank you so much for your prayers. We'll try to keep you posted.

38 Weeks Pregnant & One Year Anniversary!

Well we made it to two big milestones, 38 weeks pregnant and our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We spent the weekend in Palm Desert and it was very lovely. Our last little weekend getaway by ourselves...at least for a long time. On Saturday, we walked around the swapmeet, saw a movie, and had a nice Japanese Teppan dinner. On Sunday we had lunch at the Blue Coyote Grill in Palm Springs which is where we had lunch the day Jon proposed to me in August '07.

As you can see above, Jon surprised me with a huge beautiful bouquet of flowers on our actual anniversary (Feb 2). It's been an amazing year and it hasn't been difficult at all (except for the challenges of being pregnant.) We are so blessed and very much in love.

On the pregnancy front, everything is going fine, but we are BOTH very anxious for the baby to come. It could happen any day now... or it could still be a few weeks. This week was my first week off of work and I very much needed the rest. Just getting up, showering and getting dressed makes me tired.

At my last doctor appointment, the nurse said my uterus has grown (like normal) but I haven't gained any weight for the last three weeks (which is also normal at this stage). It just means the baby is growing and I'm not (which is good!!!)

My mom will be arriving on February 17th. If the baby isn't born by then, she will have the honor of being Jon's assistant coach at the hospital. If he comes before that, Jon's cousin Beth will be our assistant coach. So either way, I will have good coaches! Jon has been very well prepared by our Bradley birthing classes. He knows the in's & out's of every labor stage and he's learned lots of new vocabulary that's for sure!

Well, thanks to everyone for their support and prayers. We hope to be giving the BIG announcement very soon.

Love,

Andrea and Jon

Some more Baby Shower Pics

Another Baby Shower & 35 Week Doctor Appointment

Saturday, January 10th was my baby shower hosted by my wonderful girlfriends and held in the home of my cousin Lynn Fitle. The baby and I were very blessed with gifts from my family and friends. Each and every one of you have been a huge support to me in my life and I wouldn't be who I am without you. Thank you!
Wednesday, January 15th was my first official appointment with my new doctors at Kaiser Riverside. I really liked the doctor and nurse practictioner, both females. I already feel more comfortable than I did at Dr. Carstens office. Kaiser is very nice and organized. I also had an ultra sound yesterday at which they estimated the baby's current weight at 5lbs, 5oz. He seems to have dropped even lower in the last day or so, which seemed impossible to me... But his head is now right on top of my pelvic bone and it hurts at night and of course I'm waddling even more now.

Please pray for me. As we get closer to the birth, my nerves are picking up. I'm a very sqeamish person and I just want this baby on the outside already!

33 Week Doctor Appointment

As you can see...I'm growing, growing, growing. The baby has nowhere to go but up into my lungs and down into my bladder. So there's definitely some discomfort there.

I had an ultrasound on Christmas Eve and the baby measures at 4lbs, 4 oz - exactly right on schedule for where I am in the pregnancy. Everything else is good too, his face looks perfect, as does my uterus etc...

I am borderline gestational diabetic, so I have to manage my diet and stay away from sugar. If you know me, you know that is a MAJOR challenge. I love all things sugar and I would gladly give up all meat, if it meant I could live on ice cream and candy alone. But I'm being a good girl for the baby, so that means lots of protein and veggies.

My weight gain at this point is 20lbs. So I now weigh 140lbs! Yikes...never thought I'd see the day, but it's here.

Please pray for energy and sleep for me. I still need to work through January!

Harvest Family Baby Shower!

December 9th was my Harvest family Baby shower. We had so much fun and I was so blessed with an abundance of baby clothes and supplies! We played several games...including, "draw the baby on a paper plate on top of your head" and "guess the circumference of Andrea's belly." Also a hit, was "name that baby food."

Thank you to my Harvest family for making me feel so special and loved!
